Presbyterian Women

Presbyterian Women’s group serves an important part in the Bridgeport Presbyterian Church’s commitment to the work and ministry of the church locally and internationally.  In all of our activities we seek to fulfill the four purposes of PW (PC-USA).  Those purposes are:

  • To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study
  • To support the mission of the church worldwide
  • To work for justice and peace
  • To build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s Kingdom.

We offer many opportunities for all of our women to help meet the challenges presented by the above objectives.  We meet for weekly Bible study and gather at other times to complete mission projects and to enjoy fellowship with each other. We support community ecumenical activities through attending and hosting these events. We support ongoing PW offerings: the PW Birthday Offering collected in May and the Thank Offering donated in November. The Fellowship of the Least Coin is collected throughout the year at our gatherings. We are also involved with local projects such as serving meals at the Clarksburg Mission and the Ronald McDonald House.

Our fellowship activities are varied.  We attend plays and concerts together. We travel on day trips to area historical sites and other attractions. We often eat lunch together as a continuation of our morning Bible studies. Our activities are open to all of our women, young and old, and to our neighbors and friends.

Our upcoming events are posted on the list of the church’s activities.  More information is always available by calling the church office.

Youth Group

We have a very active youth program that is open to youth 12 and older.  We encourage our youth to bring their friends to all our meetings and activities.   Our meetings are a blend of devotion fellowship and include lock-ins, hikes, rafting, picnics and caroling.  Our youth also serve meals to the Clarksburg Mission.  In addition each spring the youth plan a Sunday Morning worship service.
