Attention Women of the Bridgeport Presbyterian Church
This summer is heating up, and I am not talking about the temperature outside! Presbyterian Women are planning some fun activities for the summer and we want every woman to come and see what we are all about!!
Every Monday morning at 9am this summer, PW will meet and walk together. This has replaced our usual Monday morning Bible study. Study will resume in the fall and exciting plans are already being made.
How about a road trip!!?! PW is planning a trip to Falling Waters in PA. Saturday Aug. 29th. The cost is $18 and you can pay when we arrive. We must have an accurate count to reserve our tour, so please let us know if you are interested so we can plan for this trip. We will meet at the church at 8am to be at Falling Waters by our tour time of 10am. Lunch has been reserved at the nearby Stone House Inn. This B&B built in 1822 was originally a stagecoach stop along the national road. Lunch is a varity of sandwiches, salads, etc. and is reasonably priced. Want more history? Carpool groups will form in the morning for those who wish to take an extra side trip after lunch. We plan to visit nearby Ft. Necessity. This historic site was built by founding father George Washington at the beginning of the French and Indian War. This is a great opportunity to bond with your fellow sisters in Christ and we are excited about it already! Sue Davis is in charge of the details, so let her know if you are interested in going. You may contact her in person, by phone 842-6532 or email

. Saturday September 19th promises to be an exciting day of Fun, Fellowship and meaningful experiences! Instead of an overnight event as previously advertised, we have changed our gathering to an all day retreat to accommodate women of all ages. Come as you are and enjoy a day together with women of Faith.
The theme is “The Color of prayer and the Colors of the World”. We have many activities planned including, worship, prayer, mission project, planning for Women’s Sunday, Chinese take-out style lunch, and a prayer workshop by Rev. Robin Ray entitled “The Color of Prayer”, and much more! The day starts at 9am with a light brunch. Don’t miss it!
The coordinating team of the Presbyterian Women is more than excited about the upcoming Women’s Sunday, scheduled for Sunday October 4th (the 1st Sunday in October)! We are going global! “Women of the World” is our theme. Many things are already in the works for the day and it will be meaningful, uplifting and memorable. BUT, we need every woman of the church to get involved! During our retreat in Sept. plans will be made for the day, based largely on how many women have volunteered to participate. There is something for everyone. God gives each of us gifts to be used in His service and this is a perfect time to use them.
